NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the American Samoa Government (ASG) has received its Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (CSLFRF) allocation under the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) of 2021
This notice is the beginning of a seven (7) day public comment period from Thursday, April 7, 2022 to Thursday, April 14, 2022 for the $2million allocation in CSLFRF funds to support economic recovery and response to impacted businesses in the territory as a result of the Code Red Restrictions stipulated in the State of Public Health Emergency Declaration effective on February 22, 2022. ARPA provides an opportunity for ASG to assist impacted businesses through operational cost credits within the period of economic impact.
One virtual public meeting will be held during the 7-day public comment period as shown in the schedule below to discuss the draft plan for the Cash Assistance Program (CAP) for small and mid-size businesses. The CAP for businesses is designated to the American Samoa Department of Commerce with the rules and regulations under the CSLFRF to assist eligible applicants. A copy of the draft plan can be accessed online at www.doc.as.gov/cslfrf
The community-at-large, especially businesses are invited to attend the virtual public meeting.
