PUBLIC NOTICE – 2016 Business License Renewal Period and Business Site Inspections

The business community is hereby reminded that all 2015 business licenses will expire on December 31, 2015.

The renewal period starts on October 1, 2015 for all existing businesses in the Territory.

Any business that fails to renew its license by January 30, 2016 is required to cease all business operations or will be subject to prosecution pursuant to Section 27.0211(b) of the American Samoa Code Annotated.

The public is hereby informed that the Department of Commerce will be conducting regular on-site inspections of all businesses for CY 2016 business licenses. Business owners are advised to post their 2016 business license certificate(s) in a conspicuous place on the premises. In the event that the Revenue Office has not yet issued a business license certificate, business owners are asked to present their receipt as proof of payment.

Fa’aaloalogaalii Leama-Lemai at the ASG-Executive Office Building in Ofu at 655-3478 and Mrs. Salataima Filoialii-Young at the ASG-Executive Office Building in Ta’u at 677-5749. Zoning Board Hearing – February 12, 2015

Notice is hereby given that the Zoning Board has receive applications from the following applicants requesting a Zoning Variance:

  1. Tumuatasi Lefatia – requesting a variance for a Retail Store in Malaeloa.

  2. Francis Vaivao – requesting a variance for Import/Export & Distribution in Tafuna/Happy Valley.

  3. Casamar Inc. (Samoa) – requesting a variance for an Office & Warehouse in Pago Pago.

  4. Sii Vito Tuia – requesting a variance for a Retail Store in Avaio.

  5. Virginia Tufa, Sandy Galo & Loretta Seigafo – requesting a variance for a Sewing Shop & Retail in Tafuna/Fagaima.

  6. Lucky 777 – requesting a variance for a Bar and Wholesale in Nuuuli.

  7. Jung H. Lee – requesting a variance for a Barber/hairstylist for men in Fagaalu.

  8. Paea Tamale – requesting a variance for an Auto Car Sales, Auto Parts, Auto Auction, Auto Services, Repair, Import of used cars & Auto Detailing in Nuuuli.

Any persons interested in or affected by these proposed projects are invited to view files and/or provide comments by contacting Faau Seumanutafa, the Zoning Administrator at the Department of Commerce in Utulei during normal working hours at 633-5155.  Public comments must be received no later than 4:00 p.m. on February 11, 2014.  Interested individuals are also invited to attend a Zoning Board hearing on December 12, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. in the DOC Conference Room on the second floor of the Executive Office Building at Utulei.
